KELLY COLBY MEMORIAL RIDE and BIG MOOSE HARLEY'S WET & WILD

On July 17th, I accompanied a small group of riders that had gathered to ride in memory of their friend Kelly Colby. Kelly was killed in 2006 while riding his motorcycle in Bath, Maine. Each year since his passing, his closest friends retrace the roads they once rode together. It was a beautiful sunny and warm day, that made for a great ride and time to reflect on Kelly's passing as well as for the friends I have lost since beginning RIDIN' STEEL. Later on that same day, I broke away from the Memorial Ride and made my way to BIG MOOSE HARLEY in Portland, Maine. The dealer was hosting the WET & WILD Open House. According to the owner Steve Reynolds, this is his way of showing his customers his appreciation for their patronage.

All I can say is that when Big Moose throws a party; they pull out all the stops.

You can watch the KELLY COLBY MEMORIAL RIDE and BIG MOOSE HARLEY'S WET & WILD OPEN HOUSE this Sunday January 22nd. at 10:30am on WPME and at 11am on TIME WARNER.

SANDY's RIDE CANCER SUCKS

This Sunday on RIDIN' STEEL we join up with the Nadeau Family in support of Sandy Barnie who was diagnosed with Colon Cancer last year. Once again the family unites to raise funds to assist her in the cost that she has incurred while undergoing treatment. Part of the proceeds for this benefit went towards the GET ON THE BANDWAGON NOW! Charity. This organization offers financial assistance to cancer victims by providing them with gas & food cards to help offset some of the cost that cancer victims soon experience when travelling to treat their disease. The Nadeau family was so moved by the generosity and support they got from the motorcyclist that they now show up at many of the Events that are held for others. Their way of paying it forward.

Watch it this Sunday at 10:30am on WPME and 11am on TIME WARNER . Bath/Brunswick residents can also view the show at 9am on BATH COMMUNITY TELEVISION on Channel 14.

WOUNDED HEROES RIDE 2011

On Sunday January 1st. RIDIN' STEEL takes you on the WOUNDED HEROES RIDE 2011.

This Ride organized by the Pam Payeur and her Team of the WOUNDED HEROES PROGRAM of MAINE takes us to the Scarborough Veterans Home in Scarborough, Maine where a very Patriotic scenerio unfolds. Veterans from our current conflicts to those of World War 2 mingle with each other sharing time and hopefully stories of their experiences with each other. This Ride took special meaning to me personally because Pam Payeur decided to not only Honor Sgt. James Merrill USMC ( Son of RIDIN' STEEL videographer Naomi Perkins) but was also dedicated in memory of Pvt. David R.G. Varnum a friend I had made while in my early days of starting this show. Pam's tenacity at helping our wounded here in Maine is truly admirable and she needs all the help she can get. Please watch the show this Sunday January 1st. at 10:30am on WPME or 11am on TIME WARNER or on Bath Community Television Channel 14 at 9am. and hopefully we'll inspire you to reach out and do whatever you can to help our troops.

MERRY CHRISTMAS from RIDIN' STEEL and don't forget to watch this Sunday's show on Christmas Day as we cover the BLESSING OF THE BIKES held on June 26, 2011. This is a special show where hundreds of Motorcyclist not only rode in memory of Pam Morrill but for many friends that were presently ill or have passed through the years. It was especially meaningful to Father Jack Fles and his family due to a liver transplant he was to have at this time last year. There's also a visit from Santa & his helpful Elves as they make a special delivery last Sunday December 18th. in the Bath area on their bikes on a very chilly day. Hope you all have a great Christmas!!! This weeks show will feature the music of MADCASTLE.

ZANE'S RIDE & JORDON WELLIVER

This Sunday December 18th. RIDIN' STEEL will be broadcasting our coverage of ZANE'S RIDE. Organized by Ernie Debiasio, this Benefit Ride is to raise funds for the Maine Childrens Cancer Program. Ernie holds a position of Sagadahoc County Director for the United Bikers of Maine. Zane (a cancer survivor and success story) is his Grandson. This years ride experienced some changes to make it a more family friendly environment.

The 2nd. half of the show will be on a young man by the name of Jordon Welliver. Back in March of 2011, I was notified of Jordon and his recent diagnosis of Neuro Blastoma. His Aunt Billie Joe shared with me that Jordon loves watching Professional Wrestling and that he had a wish to meet one in person. It was my first attempt to use Facebook and the network of friends we've made as a resource to seek out help with this request. The response was almost immediate and very impressive. Within a week, Jordon's wish was to be granted by Larry "The Scufflin' Hillbilly" Huntley. RIDIN' STEEL also acknowledges Joyce Clark and the role she took on in organizing this meeting not only with Larry, but also with Tony Atlas and Luke Robinson of WWE TOUGH ENOUGH.

Watch RIDIN' STEEL this Sunday at 10:30am on WPME and on TIME WARNER at 11am.

This Sunday December 4th. RIDIN' STEEL Fans will be able to catch 2 episodes of the show. The regular scheduled show for the morning will be the RALLY IN THE VALLEY. Todd Sanders and I got together during Laconia Bike Week and headed to Laconia Harley Davidson to meet up with MJ & Jocelyn Britton. They were going on a ride to Franconia Notch with the Red Knights in support of the unveiling of the Old Man Of The Mountain Memorial. There were Blue Knights and Legion Riders in attendance as well. Our goal was to reach out and establish new contacts and friends in the New Hampshire area for future coverage of Charity Rides in our neighboring State. The RALLY IN THE VALLEY can be seen at 10:30am on WPME and at 11am on TIME WARNER.

Later that evening at 8pm on WPME you can watch the HIGHWAY TO HEALTH that was not on last Sunday as scheduled because of a little mix up. The folks of WPME were kind and gracious enough to play it during prime time so that all the friends of RIDIN' STEEL from Southern Maine and have Direct TV can get to see the ride they worked so hard on.

Hope you enjoy the shows folks. My apologies for any inconvenience you may have experienced.

ALR Post 150 BIKE SHOW & RIDE FOR OUR HEROES

This Sunday November 13th. RIDIN STEEL will be airing the ALR Post 150 BIKE SHOW which was held back in May. The American Legion Riders are committed to helping our Veterans that are staying in various Veterans Homes throughout our State of Maine. On this day they were in So. Paris doing their thing. The day was sunny and warm and Bikers were looking for something fun to do. The Veterans were out and about checking out the rides and talking with the people that had come to admire some of the rides in the show. Then the show leaps forward to November 6th. where the 1st. Maine Chapter of Patriot Riders gathered last week at the Irontail Saloon to salute our Veterans. About a hundred rides showed up last Sunday in very chilly conditions to honor our Heroes. Steve Butler is the president of the Patriot Riders and I must say for his 1st. organized ride, He did a great job! You can cath it all on RIDIN' STEEL this coming Sunday at 10:30am on WPME or 11am on TIME WARNER.

NOTE:

Those of you that are already registered members of this site and receiving my e-mails should share this information with as many Bikers as possible. In faact, please encourage them to visit and register onto this site as well. With your help, we'll be able to keep riders informed on not only what is coming on in future shows, but about upcoming events also. The bonus is that registered members can also post Motorcycle related Charity Events or Rides on our Calendar.

Your help with this is much appreciated.

Stephen Marois/Producer

Under normal circumstances I edit the Charity Rides captured in the sequence they were taken, but this week I have made the decision to leap forward and work on the project that the Production Crew of RIDIN' STEEL captured last Saturday the 22nd. of October. We had the oppurtunity to ride for a lady by the name of Robyn Hesseltine who was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and it is threatening her life. Earlier this week I was notified that her condition had worsened with another tumor found on her liver and fluid in her lungs. It is my hopes that this weeks RIDIN' STEEL will generate more support for this beautiful mother of 3 children.Wether it's a financial donation or emotional support, or a prayer, I'm sure it all helps. You can watch ROBYN'S RIDE this Sunday October 30th. on BATH COMMUNITY TELEVISION at 9am - WPME at 10:30am and on TIME WARNER at 11am.

I want to thank Ride Organizer Larry Hesseltine for inviting us to this ride

Respectfully

Stephen Marois/Producer

RIDIN' STEEL
